Who are we? We are a small family-run business based in Brooklyn, NY. As avid snackers with a love for food from around the world, we wanted to create a tastier, healthier snack option than the sugary bars and oily chips that were currently available.

Why did we start Afar? Because we were tired of eating sugary bars and oily chips and wanted to create a tastier, healthier snack.

How do Afar bars only have 3g sugar each? Unlike other bars, we don’t need sugar or other sweeteners to make Afar bars tasty. We pack our bars with lots of spices and herbs for maximum flavor, and we use just a smidge of tapioca syrup to hold them together.

What's the source of the 10g protein in each Afar bar? Our protein comes from a mix of nuts/seeds and soy protein crisps.

Are Afar bars vegan and gluten free? What allergens do they contain? Yes, our bars are vegan and gluten-free. All flavors contain almonds and soy, and our Japanese Miso flavor has sesame as well. They’re made in a facility that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, and wheat.
